"I know, but I'm just bored right now. I'd rather be home, practicing for my performance this weekend."
Miranda stops in her tracks, turning to face her daughter, "Honestly Artemis, couldn't you be a little more excited about this? Your Aunt Oriana worked all night to find you these places."
Artemis lowers her head, avoiding her mother's gaze. Miranda lifts her daughter's chin with one hand, looking into her eyes with motherly concern. "What's the matter sweetie? This isn't like you."

A terrorist group is targeting Commander Kaycee Shepard and her family. That would normally not be a huge problem, except they aren't just targeting the Shepards. They are ----"

"Come on kids. We're almost there." Ashley Williams leads the merry group towards the hill overlooking the valley. Her long dark hair pulled back into a ponytail, she looks back at the other chaperone. Urdnot Grunt grumbles to himself as he trails behind the group. "You doing alright Grunt?"
"What am I doing here anyway? There's no fighting and I'm not good with….kids."
"Is that why you're letting Syren ride on your head?"
Grunt averts his eyes from hers, "She wouldn't stop asking me if she could ride with me."
"Uh-huh. I always knew you had a soft spot for the kids Grunt."
"I do not! You take that back!"
Syren giggles from on top his head. "Krogan charge!"
Grunt sighs to himself, "Maybe later, Blue."
"Awwww……"
Ayrene looks over her shoulder at her little sister, "Sy? Leave your uncle Grunt be for now. He was nice enough to let you hitch a ride. Don't push your luck, okay?"

Kaycee drapes her arm over her daughter's shoulders. She can scarcely believe how quickly she's grown up. Just seems like yesterday that Ayrene was barely up to her knees, now a tall, slender, beautiful woman stands beside her. She gives her an affectionate squeeze, "So what do you think sweetie? I told you that I would take you dancing for your eighteenth birthday. This place good enough?"
Ayrene's eyes take in the flashing lights, the pounding music, the dancing patrons, and she smiles. "You really are the coolest dad ever. Mom would completely freak if she knew you brought me here."
Kaycee imagines the fury that would come down on her if her wife knew where they were. She shudders at the thought, "Don't remind me Aya. Now, shall we have some fun?"
She guides Ayrene over to the bar, raising a hand in greeting to the Turian bartender. "Raker! Long time no see!"

I read about this a while ago. It's so sad! This piece that you created is very touching. I wish I would have known her!
So to not be too blount...but how did she die? I read something about a drunk driver, but I'm not sure. That would so suck.

Regardless, it is a testament to her that you and so many other felt the need to creat these touching tributes to her.

May she never find the shadow hungry on her path, may she only bask in sunshine for eternity and more. Love is stronger than everything, both living and beyond. What we leave behind is friendship, memories and love for those who love us too.

She was killed by a drunk driver back in August. My friend

helped me put this together in her memory. Katlyn was her name.
