Spectre Borealis reporting in. We've been getting disturbing reports of new Reaper forces taking the battlefields across the galaxy. Here's what we've learned thus far about them. I'll update this report as news comes in.
Species: Reaperized Hanar
Type: Underwater Combat
Description: The Hanar husks have been altered on a cellular level, leaving each tentacle ending in a serrated stinger or blade. In addition to the physical changes, an unknown means of propulsion has been implanted in their form, allowing them to fly through the water with relative ease. The Hanar's body glows various shades of blue or green depending on its purpose, for which there are two that we've seen. One, the blue husks seem to be the melee forces, getting up close and personal with our soldiers, tearing their hydro-suits with only a few strikes. Once they try to surface, the Kraken drags them under, making them effective killers. Only our Drell operatives have been able to fight them hand-to-hand in the water. The green variation of the Kraken seems to be focused on....well.......infection. The serrated blades carry a variety of neurotoxins, which seems to affect most races in the same way, complete and utter paralysis.....even death if exposed to a large enough dose.
Weaponry and Capabilities: Besides the stingers that were once its tentacles, the Kraken can fire bolts of electrical energy from its core, but it prefers to use its blades instead. Out of water, the Kraken is slow-moving and easy to drop with a well placed sniper shot. In the water however, the Kraken lives up to its name, a veritable storm of moving blades and strikes.
- Rough Tide
- First Land
Description: The Vorcha's fast-evolving cellular structure makes the Ghouls slightly unstable, but they serve their purpose, inspiring terror in those on the battlefield. Savage creatures, their claw-like hands have become even more frightening, long razor-like talons capable of tearing clean through armor and bone. Their bodies have an unstable brew of volatile chemicals that can detonate if exposed to biotic fields, making them a serious danger for vanguards and adepts.
Weaponry and Capabilities: Besides the wicked claws, the Ghoul has one of the most dangerous abilities, the ability to infect. A variation of the plague that ravaged Omega before the war started coats their claws and fangs. No one is safe from the effects of the plague.
Species: Harvester (Altered Species)
Type: Heavy Troop Transport
Description: The Nidhogg is a variation on the normal air unit used by the Reapers. For one thing, they are much larger than the regular Harvesters, possibly the Reapers altered their DNA or fused it with something like a Thresher Maw for it to get that big. They are a massive transport for all sorts of Reaper forces, from Brutes, Reavers, or Gargoyles to even bigger units like the Firebugs. Their wings create a localized jamming signal, sabotaging targeting systems allowing them to land unhindered.
Weaponry and Capabilities: Dual cannons rest on the Nidhogg, one under each wing. Their bodies have been altered to allow them to store troops inside, making them more vessel than creature.
Hybrid (Yahg + Krogan)
Type: Heavy Hitter
Description: The Reapers finally decided to make use of the Yahg that were not currently on Parnack. To make matters worse, they spliced their DNA with Krogans, giving them their regenerative properties as well as an increased durability. The epitome of a monster, the Juggernauts take to the field with the ferocity befitting their natural instincts, tearing apart everything in their path. Thankfully there are not that many....yet. When spotted, fire every heavy weapon you have at it.....and maybe you might have a chance of surviving.
Weaponry and Capabilities: Strong, insanely durable, and incredibly fast when charging, the Juggernaut is truly a force to be reckoned with. Their claws can tear through an Atlas Mech's armor plating with only a few strikes. As a last resort, they can fire a biotic beam from their gaping maw tearing through a target's shields and barriers in seconds. Seems like they incorporated a Collector Particle Beam to give them this devastating attack.
